SWAPD is one of the platforms we operate, and for the past few months most of our build time has gone into it. SWAPD 4.0 has been rolling out across the site. If you logged in this week you have already walked through a few of the new doors without noticing, which is the point. The best upgrades are the ones that make a place feel like it finally does what you always assumed it did.
Here is what we changed, and why we decided to change it.
A front door that says what the place actually does
Visitors who are not signed in used to land on a wall of text. Now they land on the point: specialised digital services you will not find anywhere else, backed by nearly 69 million USD in verified transactions. Three cards carry the whole proposition. Who you are working with, who handles the money, and how you get in. One button. No maze.
Members will never see it. You are already inside.
Market Watch: the market with the lights on
This is the one we are most pleased with. Market Watch is a live read on where SWAPD is actually moving, and it slides out over whatever you are already doing instead of dragging you to another page.
Total volume settled. Deal count. Success ratio. Median time to close. Volume over time, charted. There is also a category breakdown showing exactly where the money went, covering content removals, Instagram accounts, YouTube channels, PR and the rest, with real prices and real close times attached to real rows.
Most platforms ask you to take their word for it. We would rather show you the data and let you draw your own conclusions. If a category is slow, you should be able to see that it is slow before you commit to it.
Top Earners, now a proper board
Top Earners lives in the same drawer, one click away. It is a ranked board now: position, volume, share of the market, and movement badges showing who climbed and who slipped since the last window. Switch the range and watch the standings shift.
If you have ever wondered what the ceiling looks like on SWAPD, it is right there with a number next to it.
Second Chance
Deals fall through. Buyers vanish. Sellers get left holding something they had already mentally sold.
Second Chance is the board for exactly that moment. It carries listings that were agreed, did not close, and are back on the table. It is a genuine edge if you move quickly, and it means a dead deal is no longer a dead listing.
Find It
Not everything on SWAPD gets tagged perfectly, so we stopped relying on tags alone.
Find It surfaces the services people actually search for, such as reputation repair, PR, content creation, AI, account recovery and ban appeals. They appear as pills that drop you straight into the full category. Less hunting. More finding.
Chat heads
Your open conversations now sit as small avatars at the edge of the screen. Unread jumps to the top with a count. Click one and you are in it, with no page reload and no losing your place. Close a DM straight from the head. Collapse the chat and they tuck away.
It is the kind of thing nobody asks for and then nobody wants to work without.
Checkout tickets, tightened
SWAPD acts as the merchant of record on your purchase. Our team handles payment, coordinates fulfilment with subcontractors, keeps communication moving and manages disputes under our terms. Version 4.0 made that machinery quieter and quicker underneath.
Creating an auction is cleaner. The date field opens the calendar wherever you click it, the composer now runs the full width, and the card no longer fights you on Safari. Small things. You will feel them on your tenth listing rather than your first.
Categories, grouped
The category page is organised into labelled panels covering listings, services, community, members and staff, instead of one flat wall. It also stopped flickering on load, which was quietly annoying everybody, including us.
Mobile got the same treatment
This is not a cut back version of the site. It is the same landing page, the same Market Watch and the same boards, reflowed properly for a phone. Partner logos, pills, all of it. We do not think a phone visitor deserves less of the product than a desktop one.
Still intentionally exclusive
One thing we did not change. Every registration is reviewed before approval. Anyone can apply, for free and in seconds, but becoming a SWAPD subcontractor means meeting our requirements and following our rules.
Open to talent. Built on standards. That is the whole model, and 4.0 only makes it easier to see.
Why we build it this way
Running a platform like SWAPD means deciding, constantly, how much to show people. The easy path is to show very little and ask for trust. We have taken the opposite position on SWAPD. Publish the volume, publish the success ratio, publish how long things actually take, and let the numbers argue on our behalf.
That is the same standard we hold the rest of our work to. If you want to see what it looks like applied to your own business, come and talk to us.
